About – Carb-Conscious Series:

Looking to eat healthier and make more informed food choices? Interested in learning how to incorporate lower glycemic ingredients into your meals? Join our Carb-Conscious Cooking Series for hands-on instruction and practical demonstrations. This 3-week series will focus on the fundamentals of cooking with low glycemic foods and carb-conscious techniques.

Throughout the series, you’ll explore the benefits of whole grains, smart pasta and rice substitutions, and delicious lower-carb desserts. Each week of class incorporates an initial lecture over the topical concepts and dishes as well as a hands-on cooking portion where the students head into the kitchen and make their own versions of what they’ve just covered. No prior experience is necessary to attend the Carb-Conscious Series – all applicants are welcome to join.

In this series, you’ll dive into the history of whole grains, discover what qualifies as a ‘superfood,’ and learn kitchen techniques that help retain the essential nutrients in your ingredients. You’ll also learn how to make healthier swaps for common starchy foods. To wrap things up, we’ll explore creating mouthwatering desserts that are low in sugar and carbs.

Week 1 – Whole and Ancient Grains

Week 2 – Pasta and Starch Replacements

Week 3 – Low Glycemic Desserts

Dates and Times: 

The next Carb-Counscious Series session will be held on Mondays from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. 

The next start date will be scheduled for January 26th, 2026.

Cost: 

The Carb-Conscious Series is priced at $300 per student.

NOTES: Students may not sign up for individual classes per series. No chef jacket fee is added for this program.

Cancellation Policy:

In the event of a student’s cancellation, refunds are based off of the student’s attendance rate. Please contact our staff with questions if you are considering cancelling your spot.

Additional Notes:

  • Each session is limited to 16 students maximum.
  • No prerequisite classes or prior kitchen experience required. The Carb-Conscious Series is geared for beginner level chefs and food enthusiasts!
  • It is not necessary for students to enroll in other weekly programs. You may pick and choose each of our offered weekly programs.
  • If you are unable to attend any class for any reason, you are more than welcome to make it up in a following, respective Carb-Conscious Series session. Just check our schedule, confirm the date that you need to sit in on, and contact our staff by phone or email so that we can mark you down.
  • Certain weeks of the program may be pushed back for other events. Classic Cooking keeps all currently enrolled students updated with any schedule changes.
