First we’ll demonstrate how to make a seasonal bread\, and then you will make your own. DESCRIPTION:Week 1 – Cookies:\n\nLinzer Cookies\n\nLinzer tarts are a sandwich cookie version\, topped with a layer of dough with a characteristic circle shaped cut-out exposing the fruit preserves\, and dusted with confectioner’s sugar.\n\n\nVannillekipferl\n\nVanillekipferl are crescent-shaped cookies baked traditionally at Christmas time. They are shaped by hand. Once baked and still warm\, they are coated in powdered sugar and/or vanilla sugar.\n\n\nCoconut Marzipan Macaroons \n\nMacaroons (Makronen) are a loved and classic Christmas cookie in Germany. Not only are they delicious\, moist\, and chewy\, but they are also so easy and quick to make. They’re also economical. Making a quick batch of macaroons is a great way to use up the left-over egg whites. Traditionally\, makronen cookies are baked on wafers (Oblaten).\n\n\n\nAbout:\nLooking to indulge yourself in some German cuisine? Want to boost your overall pastry knowledge with a variety of foreign dishes? If so\, consider our German Pastry Series. Held over six weeks\, students will learn new topical pastries and desserts straight from Deutschland. Each class will focus on an initial classroom portion before everyone heads into the kitchen to try their hands at what they’ve just learned. DESCRIPTION:Week 2 – Breads I:\n\nPretzels\n\nThe ideal pretzel\, as served in Germany\, has a dark brown\, crispy\, salty crust\, and inside a soft dough. It has a plump body and thin\, crispy (but not dry) crossed “arms.”\n\n\nHefekranz (Also known as Hefezopf\, Striezel\, Yeast Braid)\n\nA sweet yeast dough which is divided into 3 or more equal strands\, then braided. The ends of the braids are brought together to form a wreath. Hefekranz breads are popular in Germany for Easter breakfast or brunch.\n\n\n\nAbout:\nLooking to indulge yourself in some German cuisine? Want to boost your overall pastry knowledge with a variety of foreign dishes? If so\, consider our German Pastry Series. Held over six weeks\, students will learn new topical pastries and desserts straight from Deutschland. Each class will focus on an initial classroom portion before everyone heads into the kitchen to try their hands at what they’ve just learned. DESCRIPTION:Menu – Luck o’ the Irish:\n\nBeer Cheese Soup\nIrish Soda Bread\nCorn Beef and Cabbage\nColcannon (Irish Mashed Potatoes)\nCreamy Peas with Bacon and Shallots\nChocolate Stout Cake\n\nAbout:\nOur most popular stand-alone cooking class\, this is Classic Cooking Academy’s bread and butter. Guests come in\, find a seat\, have a drink\, and meet the chefs who go over each item on the menu. After our staff covers what each table will be cooking\, guests split up among the tables to prepare one dish of their choosing.  At the end\, our chefs take over the kitchen\, while guests return to the dining room and are served a delectable three-course dinner complete with an appetizer\, entrée\, and dessert. \nMore Info:\n\nGourmet Cooking Classes are held on select Fridays\, 6:30 – 9:00pm. Attendees must be 21 years or older to consume any alcohol.\nTo make a reservation\, please call 480-502-0177 or email info@ccacademy.edu.\n$65 per person. Gratuity is not included in the class price.\n\nTips for our staff for this evening are not expected but are greatly appreciated. Want to boost your overall pastry knowledge with a variety of foreign dishes? If so\, consider our German Pastry Series. Held over six weeks\, students will learn new topical pastries and desserts straight from Deutschland. Each class will focus on an initial classroom portion before everyone heads into the kitchen to try their hands at what they’ve just learned. DESCRIPTION:About:\nBasic knife skills are important\, whether a veteran cook or a beginner\, everyone can use some basic training with kitchen knives. Class includes demonstration by one of our chef instructors\, Andrew Schmidt\, followed by practical skills of various cuts of fruits and vegetables\, herbs and garlic. Each student will learn how to debone a chicken\, and a stir fry will be made with the chicken and the vegetables.
